Sunny Day to All, Hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday. I actually made this dress yesterday morning and decided to wear it today since I was headed out with hubby. This pattern is Simplicity 8174 by the lovely MimiG. I really love her patterns. Of course, we made sure to squeeze in a photoshoot so I may share this beautiful dress with you guys today. I got both sweater knits a long time ago and can't remember where exactly. I figured I would play around with the colors and I must admit that I am in love with the final product. This dress is so comfortable. I kindly like the way MimiG styled it so I duplicated the look. I chose to dress it up today but I could easily rock it with some sneakers. Enjoy these few pics. About the Pattern I love MimiG Patterns. This one was very easy to sew. I cut a size 12 but I could have easily cut a 10 if I wanted it to be a little more fitted. The instructions were cleared and there is a step by step video for this pattern if needed. The only alterations were because I personally have a short torso and I am petite, so I removed about 6 inches from the length of the dress and placed the front pocket about 2 inches higher then indicated in the instructions. Other than that, the final piece was very pleasing to my eyes and hopefully to yours as well. Happy Sewing to you!

Sunny Day to All, This Saturday was amazing! I did some fabric shopping in the morning and felt so inspired that I decided to sew. I wanted to make this cute mini dress to go out last night. It is still cold in Maryland so I already knew what look I was going for. McCall 7465 is very classy and I thought I would modify it to get the look that I wanted. I already had this olive stretch knit in my collection and thought that I would use it to achieve this look. Enjoy these few pics! About the Pattern This pattern was easy to follow. It only took me a few hours to make this dress. I would say that it is an intermediate beginner level pattern. I completed view D and cut size 12. I did not use an elastic as I didn't need it . I also gathered the side of the skirt a bit more than instructed to achieve the slope look. I want to make view A of this pattern in the future. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Sewing to You!
Sunny Day to All, I know it has been a while but I am not a winter person so sewing sweaters and coats are not really my thing, at least not yet. I have been working on my spring selection, so stay tune for the upcoming posts. I made this white jumpsuit a while back. I used Vogue 9116 to achieve this look. I was invited to a all white affair and wanted to wear a custom piece. I was feeling myself that night. I was really happy with the outcome. Since I haven't posted in a while and is it Thursday, I figure I will drop and TBT post. Enjoy the few pics! About the Pattern This pattern was easy to follow. I used a light knit white fabric that I had in stock and added this silver sequence piece of remnant that I found at Joan fabric for like $3. I always like picking up those odd piece of fabric because they can make a great accent to your final piece. I didn't make any alterations to the pattern, I just added that sequence to give it a pop. I cut size 12 and had to adjust the top portion a little bit since I am not heavy busted. I loved the outcome and I planned on making the other version of the pattern in summer 2018. Happy Sewing to You!
