Sunny Day to All, Happy Friday!!! I love this dress. By now, you should know that I love flower prints. Ha! I purchased this jersey knit fabric at G Street Fabric in Maryland. I'm an island/summer girl so I love making cute little dresses. This pattern, Simplicity 8379 , looked so easy that I had to sew it. You can dress this down with some tennis shoes or dress it up with some heels. I chose to pair it with some heels and rose gold accessories in the pictures below. Enjoy! About the Pattern I used a Jersey knit fabric for this pattern but a cotton fabric could be used to achieve another look. You may have to add some more inches if choosing to use a non-stretch fabric. I really love the drops on the side of this dress. I cut size medium. It is definitely an easy pattern to sew. No alterations were needed. I will definitely sew it again. Happy Sewing to You!

Sunny Day to All, You guys are probably tired of seeing my front porch. LOL. Well, these night time quick shots are usually taken right before I step out to attend an event. This particular night, I was headed to an event in Downtown DC. I used Simplicity 1283 for the high-waisted pants and I self-designed the cropped top. I am very proud of the outcome. Enjoy these few pics! About the Pattern I would say that this pattern is for intermediate beginners. It is not very hard but a clear understanding of basic sewing techniques is necessary. I received a few messages as to what size I wear in regular clothes. I am a size 6. For this pattern, I cut a size 18 to be on the safe side. This fabric had a little bit of stretch but not as much as a regular knit. I would have given more details but I am still learning my fabrics. I had to adjust it as it was too big but I am glad I gave myself room for errors. The outcome was perfect. Happy Sewing to You!
Sunny Day to All, This is a Throw back Thursday Post. I made this top a while back. My inspiration for this sleeveless cardigan came from the lovely MimiG. She made the same pattern, Butterick 5789, a while back with sleeves. I thought her choice of fabric was fabulous so I headed to Joann fabric where I got this sequence blue fabric and duplicated the look. Since I was traveling to Haiti for Christmas, I made it sleeveless (View C). I paired it with some black random mini skirt that I had in my closet and my sexy black and blue pumps. (Hair by Cyndy Dumay/ Call her for appointments if you are in the Maryland/DC area). Enjoy the pictures! About the Pattern I made this a while back and I was definitely a beginner so if you are looking for something easy, this is it! I cut size Small. I didn't make any alterations, I just chose to wear it with a belt to create a special look. I actually used a knit fabric for the neck as suggested by MimiG to avoid the sequence rubbing on my neck. I may sew this again with sleeves this time for the holidays. Stay tuned and Happy Sewing to You!
Sunny Day to All, You guys should know by now that I love colors. I bought this fabric a while back at G Street Fabric in Maryland. Love this place by the way! I wasn't sure of what to do with it for quite a while. But, when I saw this easy, breezy dress pattern, Simplicity 8383, I just knew I had to sew it. I paired this beautiful dress with my Guess pumps and kept it simple. Enjoy these few pics. About the Pattern If you are looking for something quick, cute and classy, this is it! I wasn't sure about the fabric but I think it came out pretty cute. I cut a size 12 and it came out perfect. Now, I am only five feet tall so you may choose to shorten or add length to it depending on the look that you are going for. I didn't make any alterations to the pattern. I will definitely sew this again. Happy Sewing to You!
