Sunny Day to All, It's getting cold in Maryland. I am an Island girl so I am always searching for the sun. However, this cold is not giving me a choice but to start sewing for the fall/winter. This long tunic pattern from MimiG is simple and beautiful. I was attending my sisterhood brunch and was in need of a cute outfit. Simplicity 1019 was the winner. I paired it with some khaki jeans and some brown boots. Enjoy these few pics! About the Pattern This MimiG pattern is lovely. It is very easy to follow. I used this fabric from Michael Levine and it was a success. I didn't make the 2 parts sleeve. That was the only alteration. I am only 5 feet tall so I think I may shorten it next time. I cut a side 10 and used 6 beautiful gold plated buttons that I got from GStreet Fabric in Rockville MD. This pattern is definitely a winner! Happy Sewing to You!

Sunny Day to All, Two weeks ago I celebrated my birthday in Los Angeles. I wanted to do something different. And celebrating in the west coast was definitely different. I had a blast with my niece and nephews. I visited downtown Hollywood, enjoyed the sunset at the Beach, did a little bit of hiking, experienced the night life and enjoyed the Fabric district. That experience was one of a kind. A blog post with details is coming soon. I was like a kid in a candy store in the fabric district. Let's get back to the pattern. I made this dress just a couple of days before my trip. I wanted something comfortable, light and cute! McCall6744 was my choice. I bought this fabric from G Street fabric in Rockville MD. I really liked the outcome. Let me know what you think! Enjoy these few pics. I paired this mini dress with my Fossil shades and my Aldo wedge tennis shoes because we planned on walking a lot that day. It wasn't cold but it was a little breezy so my white jacket came handy. About the Pattern I made this dress in less than 3 hours. The instructions were very easy. I love the gathered shoulder look. I sewn view C. But I will definitely sew the Maxi version very soon. I made no alterations to the pattern. I cut a size medium and it was perfect. Happy Sewing to You!
