Sunny Day to All,
OH MY!!! It has been a very long time since I posted. I received a few messages where people were checking on me and asking why I have not posted in so long. As many of you may know, if you have followed my sewing journey for a while, sewing has been my therapy, my relaxation and my hiding space. My husband and I have struggled with infertility for many years since we got married in 2008. In 2020, 12 years later, God blessed us with a miracle baby and since then my focus has been motherhood. AMEN!!!!!! I suddenly had no time to sew because all I wanted to do is focus on my little family. I did just that for the past 4 years. From time to time, I made a dress, a shirt or a jumpsuit but never had the chance to photograph them to share with everyone. Now that I have figured out a way to manage my time with a little one who is now 4 years old, I will be sharing my makes. Happy Sewing to you and Welcome back to my blog!!!!

Sunny Day to All, I cannot believe that we are already in August. The summer is almost over and I feel like I didn't even get to enjoy any of it. At this time, I am still focusing on sewing cool comfortable dresses that I can wear at home or for a quick run to the grocery store. I am still sewing my stash. I used this ITY knit fabric before (Here). I still had an additional yard and half left and some beautiful cotton blend fabric that paired really well with it. I figured I would make another cute dress to lounge around the house during this pandemic using Butterick 5456. It was very easy to make and I thought the two fabrics complement each other very well. This dress is very dear to my heart. I will be wearing it all the time. I paired it with some silver sandals, some handmade earrings and shades gifted some dear friends of mine. Enjoy the pictures and let me know how you like the pattern. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and don't forget to leave a comment! Happy Sewing to you!
Sunny Day to All, I am currently dealing with some personal issues that are really trouble some at times but I am trying to find ways to keep my cool and smile. Sewing has kept me busy lately and has brought nothing but joy to my life. So why not keep sewing! Although we are stuck at home because of this pandemic, we can still dress up, have a mojito and enjoy a great sunny day. That's just what I did this past Sunday. I watched mass online and got dressed up just because. Hubby was so kind to snap some pictures of this beautiful top that I made a while back and then we just relaxed for the rest of the day. I purchased this fabric a while back at Gstreet Fabric. It is a designer sample and I was lucky to pick it up. I made this one shoulder top using McCall 7955 View A. Today I chose to pair this top with some shorts because it was way too hot to wear anything else. My sandals are from Créations Dorées and my shades are from Zigi & Marais. This is still very comfortable. I am keeping it comfy and cute for this summer. Enjoy the pictures. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and don't forget to say hello. :-)
Sunny Day to All, Covid-19 does not seem to want to leave us anytime soon so I am sewing some more comfortable dresses. I can wear this anywhere, anytime, dress it up or down. This summer, I chose to sew my stash. I am using fabric from my stash whether they are leftover fabric or not. I'm also using patterns that I already have since I have no plans of purchasing any new ones anytime soon. I made this dress back on September 2017. You can find the previous blog post Here. It was one of the first couple of patterns that I made. It was so easy. It is Simplicity 8379. I loved this dress so much. I mean it is on rotation in my closest. The moment that I take is off and wash it, it is back on my body again. I had to duplicate this dress. Please hang tight, I probable will be making another one very soon. Enjoy these few pics. Below, you will see the picture of the previous outfit I made with the same fabric. And if you want to see the blog post about it, click Here. We are not wasting fabric over here! I consider this a win win! Let me know what you think about this dress. Happy Sewing to You and don't forget to say Hello.
Sunny Day to All of you, Thank you for visiting my blog today. I am sharing with you this beautiful Off the shoulder dress. As I stated before, I will continue to sew what I can wear often and not some fancy garments to snap some pictures and post on social media. I am committed to grow my closet everyday with pieces that I want to wear often. As we continue in this pandemic, my husband and I have chosen to practice social distancing all the time by continuing to stay home as much as we can. So I am sewing comfortable clothes to wear at home, to the grocery store and may sew a couple of work clothes since I have to go to office sometimes. This beautiful dress is pattern McCall 7744 View A. This dress was very easy to make and I love the tie in the back. it truly gives it a special finish. The fabric is from good old Walmart and it was only 2 yard. I actually bought it last year in the Williamsburg Walmart while on a family vacation. It is a polyester blend and it only cost just about $2.97 a yard. So with elastic and thread, I would say this dress cost me $10. I love sewing!!!!!!! Hubby took me to the North Beach Boardwalk in Maryland to clear my head as I have been going through a lot lately and I took the opportunity to snap some pictures of my new dress. Let me know if you like it. Again, Thank you for visiting my blog and don't forget to say Hello. Happy Sewing to you!
