Sunny Day to All, The month of October is usually a busy one for me. It usually includes lots of traveling and gatherings. About two weeks ago, I went to Miami for my Cousin's Wedding shower. Let's just say, I had a blast! While I was there, I took the time to photograph this cute jumpsuit that I made using MimiG's jumpsuit tutorial. This tutorial was published 2 years ago and I purchased it as soon as it came out because I loved the comfy look. I travel to Miami several times a year because half of my family members reside there. This time, I visited Midtown and it was very artistic! All the walls looked just like that; Painting and Graffiti everywhere. I snapped a few pictures as I was totally impressed. If you haven't been there, I would recommend driving by just to see the art works. I paired this comfy jumpsuit with some cute flats this time around. But I can totally rock some heels with it as well. Enjoy some more pics! About the Pattern I made this jumpsuit using MimiG's Jumpsuit tutorial. It is still available for purchase in the link provided above. This tutorial helps you draft the pattern using a tank top and some leggings that you already have in your closet. It was very easy to make. I have sewn this jumpsuit previously but never got a chance to take some pictures. Happy sewing to you!

Sunny Day to All, I was invited to an African Gala in Washington DC with my girls this past Sunday. Let's just say we had a blast! About 2 weeks ago, we went fabric shopping together and picked this beautiful Ankara fabric. I wasn't sure of the pattern yet but I just knew I had to sew a beautiful piece for this special night. MimiG's Simplicity 8394 was just perfect. I have to admit that this was my very first time sewing a non-stretch fabric and I was very nervous. I could not be happier with the outcome. I paired this outfit with my black and gold Steve Madden sandals and accessorized it with gold Jewelry. As far as my hair, I went for a short look for my locks. No, I did not cut my hair! Ha! Hair done by me. :-) Enjoy these few pics! About the pattern This pattern is great for intermediate beginner. Patience is definitely necessary especially if you are using a pattern fabric like I did. I had to play around with the fabric to make sure the sides were matching. I am really proud of myself with this one. MimiG has a sew along video if you are a beginner but the instructions are great. I cut size 18 to be on the safe side and had to adjust it on me. I had to sew in the bottom part of the skirt a little bit more to achieve the final look. That was my only alteration. I will definitely sew this again. Happy Sewing to you! Blessed to have this wonderful sisterhood!!! Of Course I had to feature my sisters as well since we wore the same fabric (Left to right: Elizabeth, Jennifer and Farah). I wish I could take credit for all the beautiful outfits, but I only made mine. LOL. This was truly a night to remember. We had a blast! But then again, we always do when we get together. I am truly grateful for this sisterhood. Love you Ladies and thank you for allowing me to share some pics. Muuuaaaah!!!!
Sunny Day to All, Although I live in Maryland, I continue to sew summer clothes because I travel so much. This pattern is actually featured on my website already HERE. When I like a pattern I tend to sew it again. I got this fabric on the Michael Levine website and the colors screamed Maxi to me. I have paired this dress with both flats and heels. In the pictures below, I paired it with my Steve Madden Sandals, my Fossil shades and had my hair hooked up by the lovely Cyndy Dumay. About the Pattern Please see my previous post for more details about this pattern HERE. I definitely altered the pattern and made it longer to achieve the Maxi Dress look. I added the belt but did not really follow the pattern for that. Again, this is definitely a winner for any beginner. Happy Sewing to you!
