Sunny Day to All, Last weekend was a busy one for me. I had several graduation parties to attend and of course, I always want to wear a custom piece. I wanted to garden, clean the house, do my hair, get the nails done, cook and sew. Of course, sewing always get squeezed in. Ha! I needed to make something quick for this graduation party because I didn't have enough time for a fancy pattern. I had this beautiful colorful lime green with flowers fabric that I purchased at an Ankara wholesale fabric store in Washington DC a while back. I had envisioned a maxi skirt as soon as I saw the fabric. And what better pattern to use then MimiG's Regal Maxi tutorial. It was perfect and quick! Because the fabric was so busy, I paired it with a simple white tank top and my beautiful sandals' from Mara's (from Haiti) and some custom colorful jewelry that I thought was perfect for the busy look. I almost forgot to mention that , with the excess fabric, I was able to make a headband that I also wore to complete the look. Needless to say, I felt like a Queen! Enjoy the pictures! About the PatternMimiG's Regal Maxi tutorial is very easy to follow. You do need more than 3 yards for this pattern. In my case, I needed more, as I wanted the flowers in the front of the dress. I had to position my fabric a certain way to achieve this look. The sew-along video was on point. The skirt was perfect and I got plenty of compliments. I chose to omit the belt but I am sure I will be making this again with the belt very soon. Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy Sewing to You!

Where do I begin?! I love the color, the style of the skirt (showing your talent). Putting the flowers in the front and middle shows your sense of symetry. The bow in your head is ice on the cake, the necklace is the perfect addition to the white shirt. Once again, you proved your fabulous taste.
