Sunny Day to You All, Can somebody say COLORFUL? I had to tone this outfit down with some white pants. LOL I was invited to a couple of parties on Saturday night and wanted to wear something nice and cute. What better way to make this happen than pulling a fabric from the stash, picking a pattern and get to work. I have had this MimiG pattern for a little while and was looking for the perfect occasion to make it. I love all MimiG patterns. She is amazing and is one of my true inspiration to sew other than my dear mother. Pattern S8136 helped me achieve this beautiful look. I felt gorgeous . I used this colorful Ankara fabric. Sewing with this type of fabric is not forgiven. It does not stretch so measurements need to be on point. Hubby was nice enough to snap some pictures before we stepped out. I accessorized it with some gold and orange jewelry, white pants and white heels (old). Enjoy the pictures! About the PatternSimplicity 8136 was an intermediate level pattern. There is a lining, zipper and many adjustments to body measurements. When using knit fabric, there is room for error, however using non-stretch fabric, is little challenging. I had to make some adjustments to the pattern to match my body measurements. This fabric makes me happy because of all the colors. Now, I had to use my seam ripper a couple of times. I have a short torso and I did not take it in consideration when sewing my straps. I was not happy about unstitching the bodice to the peplum, just to adjust the straps. But I did not give up. I still finished the shirt that afternoon and rocked it the same day. I cut view A / size 14. Remember, all MimiG patterns have sew along videos so a beginner may be able to get this done. :-) Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to say Hello. Happy sewing to you!!!

I don't usually like peplum but it came out so well in that top that I have to admit that I love it. I also love the cross (not sure it if it's the proper word for it) in the back. The fabric is very vivid, perfect for spring and summer.
